Hello Reader,
Welcome to Diana's Digs.
This blog is combination of places to go and things to see for the local that are off the beaten path, as well as places to go and things to do to revive a creative soul.
Sometimes I want an adventure, and I go out and go somewhere I haven't been.
Sometimes I had a bad week, and I just want to revive.
Sometimes I want to go somewhere that reminds me of home.
And sometimes I think you absolutely must go see something that is a gem in the rough!

My definition of any of the above may not be yours. And that's okay! I am simply hoping that out of my experience, you find some things that work for you.

When the Car Goes Kaput and Other Travesties

Dear Reader,
Of course I would love to have the time to visit some place every weekend and then tell you all about it; that is why I started the blog!
I recently found, however, that sometimes responsibilities get in the way. For example, last weekend I had plans to go somewhere and write something up, but my car wouldn't start.
Life gets busy, as we all know. Please use the "follow" feature here to be automatically updated of posts ... otherwise, let me know that you're a regular reader and I'll email you when something goes up.
Above all, be patient with this working girl and you'll read about places you've never been and didn't know are there!

GPS: An essential tool

Dear Reader,
Last spring I bought a GPS. Not just for my adventures that you read about, but also for where daily life takes me. It's not a newer GPS, I bought it refurbished from Overstock.com -- but it does what I need. It gets me around.

For those of you who ever, on a regular basis, venture outside your normal locations (work, home, etc.) I strongly recommend it.

GPS has helped get me to friends' houses, doctors' appointments and work afterwards, navigate from one known location to another the quickest way, and finally helped me get to my exploration locations. Anytime I drive an unknown route, I feel more relaxed because I know that GPS will get me there, even if I miss a recommended exit.

Someone suggested that I name GPS "Suzy" (it has a female voice.) I might start a poll for the device's name. I think its fun, and right now I'm calling it "her", so I might as well give it a name. Stay tuned!

And in the meantime, if you're finding yourself in new territories a lot, consider your own GPS!
